My experience with Dr. Bradley was life-changing! I'm so happy I had such an amazing team to work with throughout the process. They made everything extremely easy, from start to finish. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, which matters so much during a procedure that can be really anxiety-inducing. I was extremely scared on the day of surgery, and one of the staff members took one look at me and noticed. She held my hand all the way to the operating room and kept holding it until the anesthesia kicked in. That's the kind of people who work here!
I had no major complications after surgery. Healing went really well, and an assistant was always available to answer my questions throughout recovery.
I actually have friends who, after seeing my results, are now planning to choose Dr. Bradley as their surgeon too.
I would absolutely recommend Dr. Bradley and his team. My experience has been overwhelmingly and decidedly positive.
I would strongly caution anyone considering surgery here to do extensive research before moving forward.
In my opinion, this practice operates more like a high-volume surgery factory than a patient-centered practice. After New York classified gender-affirming surgery as medically necessary, this surgeon relocated to run the program. My experience left me feeling like the focus was on maximizing billable procedures rather than providing individualized care.
I originally went in wanting one procedure: a facelift. Instead, I was repeatedly told I needed numerous additional surgeries. I was talked into a forehead procedure, hairline advancement, eyelids, orbital rim work, rhinoplasty, cheek work, chin and jaw surgery, and a facelift. Looking back, I deeply regret agreeing to all of it. When insurance is covering the cost, patients should be especially careful to ask whether every recommended procedure is truly necessary.
As a bone surgeon, I believe his work is acceptable in some areas. However, in my experience, his cosmetic and aesthetic judgment is poor. If all you need is a brow procedure and you’re comfortable with a traditional hairline incision, you may have a different experience. But I would strongly discourage anyone from having chin or jaw work done here. Read patient forums and you’ll find repeated complaints about uneven results, overly masculine appearances, asymmetry, nerve issues, and revision surgeries.
My own results have been devastating. The only procedure I’m reasonably satisfied with is the brow bone work. Everything else requires revision. My nose is crooked, my chin is larger than it was before and looks completely unnatural, my jaw is uneven, my hairline scar is wide and obvious, and the facelift itself failed to deliver the refreshed appearance I wanted. Instead, I was left with sagging tissue and highly noticeable scars.
What makes this especially frustrating is that I never wanted all of these procedures. I wanted a simple facelift to look refreshed. Instead, I left with multiple problems that now require expensive revision surgery.
My advice is simple: don’t let anyone convince you that you need a long list of procedures just because insurance will pay for them. Get independent consultations from experienced facial plastic surgeons before agreeing to anything. Social media often showcases only the best outcomes. Spend time reading independent patient forums and revision stories before making a decision.
This was one of the biggest regrets of my life, and I would never choose this practice again.
I normally do not write reviews, but I feel it is important to share my experience for others who may be considering Facial Feminization Surgery.
I NEVER GOT CLOCKED OR MISGENDER UNTIL I HAD THIS SURGERY WITH DR. JAMES BRADLEY
I underwent FFS with Dr. James Bradley in New York after spending years preparing emotionally and medically for this step in my transition. Like many transgender women, this surgery was deeply personal and something I trusted would help soften my facial features and align my appearance with how I have always felt.
Unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. Some of the results do not match what I believed was discussed prior to surgery, and certain changes to my facial structure have been difficult for me to accept. The outcome has caused significant distress and I am currently seeking additional medical opinions regarding possible revisions.
What also concerned me is that after my surgery, I began researching more patient experiences and noticed that I am not the only person who has raised concerns about surgical outcomes.
I want to be clear that I am simply sharing my personal experience. Facial surgery is permanent and life-changing, and patients deserve full transparency and clear communication about every procedure being performed.
My hope is that sharing this helps future patients ask detailed questions and carefully research before making such an important decision. PLEASE!!!
High key really hate!! doctor Bradley he’s a horrible surgeon horrible bedside manner and there are so many irregularities with my face and bone structure he says trust the process but I recommend not trusting him at all with your one and only face …. I am already talking to other surgeons about a revision this man does not care about his patients he only cares about insurance money you only have one face and don’t let him ruin it he should be referred to as a butcher not a surgeon I also told him I liked my jaw just as is it was and I don’t want any work done on it and he definitely worked on my jaw without my consent BEWARE of him and his team they will play in your face and try to act professional but he is no professional and he knows nothing about aesthetics he is beyond sloppy and the medical board should look into him….
My journey looking for a surgeon took me years to me it was more important to look as natural as possible. I wasn’t looking for a cartoon character look; all I wanted was a softer version of myself. And boy he deliver!!!
I’m still healing only 2 months post-op and I couldn’t be happier with my results. I’m so glad that I chose him and his team. There are no words to describe how much I appreciate them. They have all been so welcoming and kind. They’ve made me feel special right from day one. Because of Dr. Bradley and his team, I am more secure and my confidence has gotten a major boost like never before. When I was about to enter the operating room I was so nervous, (lol) but they assured me I was safe, and in good hands. My expectations were 100% full filled. With eyes closed I recommend him.
