I’ve been going here for electrolysis for quite a while now, and I always feel comfortable and welcome.
Electrolysis isn’t exactly the most relaxing procedure in the world, but the technicians are professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. They always make me feel safe and at ease, and the atmosphere is calm enough that I sometimes find myself almost falling asleep during sessions.
I’m grateful for the kindness, professionalism, and consistency of the entire team. Highly recommended.
I've been going to Nios Spa for almost two years now for regular electrolysis treatments. My technician Zelina has been great!
She is attentive to my specific concerns and needs as a client while working with my electrolysis. Sessions with her are painless and each time she is able to treat my desired area within the booked time frame. Love this place!
I cannot say enough good things about Nios. I am highly sensitive when it comes to spas, salons, doctors, or anywhere in which the employees examine or touch your body as part of their profession. I've had bad experiences at hair salons and laser skin places because of how sensitive I am. Nios is amazing. I have never had a bad experience with a single one of the technicians. They're all amazing. And the visibility of the hair on my chin has reduced SIGNIFICANTLY (I'm not quite done with the laser sessions, which is why I say reduced instead of disappeared.) I also love that you're not locked into sessions the way you are with laser. And I love how many technicians there are so that if I ever find one that isn't a good fit, I can find a new one (they're all amazing. I haven't found a single person giving bad vibes).
I went to Nios Spa for several electrolysis sessions, primarily with Jessica and once with Andrea. Unfortunately, after multiple appointments, I decided to continue my electrolysis treatments elsewhere.
My first session with Jessica was okay. She explained the difference between electrolysis and laser hair removal, and afterward I experienced some redness and irritation, which I understood can be normal after electrolysis. However, during my next four sessions with her, I consistently felt that my appointments were rushed and that she was rough with my skin. I also started experiencing frequent ingrown hairs, and over time I felt like the condition and appearance of my skin was getting worse rather than improving.
I then had a session with Andrea, and that experience concerned me even more. During my appointment, she was not using a magnifying light while working on the area, which made me question how clearly she could see the individual hairs and follicles. From my perspective, it felt more like the hairs were being tweezed than properly treated with electrolysis, especially because I noticed very fast regrowth afterward.
After these experiences, I decided to try another electrologist who is also an esthetician, and the difference in my experience was significant. She took her time with my skin, adjusted and changed the needle when working on more sensitive areas, and provided red-light treatment afterward to help calm my skin. I felt that much more attention was being paid to both the electrolysis treatment itself and the health of my skin.
Based on my personal experience with multiple sessions at Nios Spa, I would not recommend them for electrolysis. I wish I had switched providers sooner.
Nios is a wonderful & affirming professional office. I have been receiving gender affirming care there for over 4 years. It's been a journey & all the staff & providers have been accommodating & supportive. In particular Regi & Scott have been awesome! Thanks NIOS!
